Cudgen Headland Surf life saving club @ Kingscliff

Cudgen Headland Surf Life Saving Club volunteer lifesavers patrol Kingscliff Beach between October and April on weekends and for NSW and Qld public holidays.  Our beach is patrolled by professional lifeguards during the NSW and Qld summer and winter school holidays. The Surf Club charter is to provide aquatic safety for Kingscliff Beach which allows families to enjoy their holidays and leisure time in safety.  Volunteers have been patrolling Kingscliff Beach since 1922

The Club is located at the southern end of Kingscliff Beach adjacent to the restaurant strip and business centre. It is close to many accommodation facilities and only a short drive from the Gold Coast Airport.

Patrol Information

All patrolling members are required to meet their patrol requirements as per the club roster.

Patrol times are generally: 9:00 - 1.00, 1.00 - 4:00 and in NSW School Holidays 9:00 - 1.00, 1.00 - 5:00

* Please turn up on time. The time listed on your roster is the time that patrol is on the beach set up including the IRB, so arrive approx 20-30 minutes prior to start.

* All members should share the responsibility of setting up and packing away.

* All members must wear full patrol uniform, patrol cap, patrol DHL shorts. You should also bring sunglasses, hat sunscreen and water. All patrol members must sign on and off with your captain

* You are required to be proficient by the 31st December.

* If you need to leave patrol for any reason you must advise your patrol captain.

RENEWING MEMBERS with a PORTAL account simply login at http://members.sls.com.au from there you can renew your membership, scroll down and sign your declarations (tick boxes to cover you with insurance by SLSA), check all your details and update if necessary.

TRAINING & EDUCATION

Successful lifesaving is accomplished through volunteer lifesavers having specific, relevant and up to date training and education.  Lifesavers apply their knowledge and skills to provide the beach going public with a service of prevention, promotion and protection.

The training and education area provides introductory, standard and higher level training in the use of lifesaving equipment and advanced emergency care resources that enhances the lifesavers ability to provide support to the community, while maintaining and developing their own skills.

The trainers and assessors are lifesavers who have identified the importance of a well trained organisation and further dedicate their time, to provide ongoing access to training and education of new and existing members.

Many of the courses delivered are nationally accredited which provides opportunities for the knowledge and skills gained through lifesaving to be used for gaining or maintaining employment outside of the lifesaving movement.

Membership Information

Our Membership fees fall due 1st September yearly.  This season we have lowered the price in the hope to encourage more people to join up and become lifesavers to help us patrol Kingscliff Beach.

Your membership card entitles you to receive Club discounts at the Bar & Bistro so we encourage you to support your Club and enjoy the hospitality and our friendly staff at your Club.  Please spread the word and encourage friends and family to join one of the most respected organisations in the world and become an Aussie Lifesaver at Cudgen Headland, NSW Club of the Year 2015!

ACTIVE & ASSOCIATES - $19 Categories: Cadets & Juniors Under 18yrs, Actives 18yrs & Over, Reserve Active, Long Service, Award and Active Associates (all members who volunteer to patrol or assist in anyway for the club - includes SLSA Insurance)
